Katherine Tucker was born to Mr. Joseph Preston Croney and Catherine Tucker on November 27, 1959. She was the second oldest of five children. She attended Waco ISD schools; R.L. Smith, Tennyson Middle School, and Richfield High School where she graduated from. She joined St. John Baptist Church at an early age under the Reverend H.K. Ross and was a member until her health started declining.
She worked at Baylor for a couple years from 1977 to 1981. She then started working at Crestview Healthcare Nursing Home as a CNA in 1982. She worked there for 34 yrs. She also worked for LakeShore Village from 2015 to 2017 as a CNA until her health started declining. She loved to sew, cook, shop, and hold family gatherings as often as she could. She loved her family very much.
She departed her life on May 21, 2025 at her residence where she resided in Waco, Tx.
She was proceeded in death by her father Joseph Preston Croney, mother Catherine Tucker, maternal- grandparents Joe and Lillie Mae Tucker, twin uncles Joe & Joseph Tucker, uncles Amos Tucker and Tommy Tucker, aunt Lorine Tucker, brother-in-laws Sammy Veal and William Stewart, sister-in-law Dionna Tucker, great-niece Diamond Whitaker, great-nephew King William Stewart, and nephew David Gant.
She leaves to cherish her memory sons Dewayne Tucker and Ronnie Tucker, longtime friend Ernest Harris, brothers Gregory Tucker, Oliver Tucker, Michael Tucker(Darlene), Robert Walker, Freddie Gant Jr and Scottie Gant, sisters Rose Veal(Don) and Mary Smith(Rob), two devoted nieces Tracie Tucker(John) and Pamela Johnson(Tyson) and niece Delainey Tucker, nephews Gregory Tucker Jr, William Stewart Jr(Wyconda), and Michael Tucker Jr, a devoted great-aunt Pearl Johnson, a special great-niece Reality Stewart, a special great- nephew Terrance “Trey” Cargill, a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins and eight great friends Darlene Robinson, Barbara Robinson, Ophelia Hawthorne, Sheila Giddens, Beverly Hines, Tanya Bell-Kemp, Taneka Washington, and Diane Perales.
