Joyce Ann Johnson

Joyce Ann McGruder Johnson was called home October 13, 2024. She was born April 3, 1954 to Joseph and Dorothy (Phillips) McGruder in Odonell, Texas. She graduated from Odonell High School where she held numerous positions. She attended West Texas State University where she majored in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education. She worked at Heart Stone assistant living which later became Elm Cross for 26 years where she retired. She loved working there and truly enjoyed the people there.

She is survived by her son; Maurice Johnson, brothers; James (Sandy), Eugene (Brenda), Lynn (Shaunta), Douglas (Peggy), sisters; Nancy Childers and Dr. Georgia Riles (Bishop J.G. Riles) and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, her brothers; Joe Jr., Billy, Roy, Aaron, and Harold. Sisters; Bobbie Nell and Dorothy Louise. She was truly loved and will be missed.
