Jennings Bryant “JB” Shotwell Jr., was born May 3, 1959 in Waco, Texas. JB passed away surrounded by family and friends on June 30, 2023.
JB was a loving and caring husband, brother, father and grandpa. He was the sweetest man you would have ever known, so much he would give the shirt off his back. As early as eight and into his teenage years, JB mowed lawns to provide for his family. The need to provide for his family continued as he married the love of his life, Kathleen Cloer Shotwell on January 7, 1980. JB and Kathleen had sons Jennings Shotwell III, John Shotwell,daughters Priscilla Shotwell and Elizabeth Shotwell. JB retired from forklifting after 15 years from Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. in 2000. Afterwards, JB repaired and sold lawnmowers, dealing in reselling antiques, cars and specialty toys until his passing.
He is preceded in death by dad Jennings Bryant Shotwell Sr., mom Bonnie Jean Shields, sister Ada Gale Tankersley, brother George Eddleman and daughter-in-law Sarah Elizabeth Shotwell.
JB is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathleen Cloer Shotwell, daughter Priscilla Shotwell and husband David Dalton, grandson Jedidiah Arias-Shotwell, granddaughter Julissa Arias-Shotwell, daughter Elizabeth Shotwell, son John Shotwell and wife Alyssa Stapleton, granddaughters Aliza Shotwell, Allison Shotwell, grandson John Shotwell Jr., son Jennings Shotwell III (husband of deceased wife Sarah Elizabeth Shotwell), grandsons Zachary Harper, Aiden Shotwell, Tanner Shotwell, Julian Shotwell and Jax Shotwell, brother Martin O’Neal Shotwell and wife Amy Lavro, aunt Shirley Fernandez, many great friends and extended family members that called him “Pops”.
Pallbearers are Chester Gardner Jr., David Dalton, Carlos McCutcheon, Vincent Snell, Jairus Cloer, and Felipe Medina.
Honorary pallbearers are Jedidiah Arias-Shotwell, Andrew Arias, Julissa Arias-Shotwell, Elizabeth Shotwell, and John Shotwell Jr.
