Isaac Wilkerson Obituary

Mr. Isaac Wilkerson (Pete) was born at sunrise on July 28, 1947, in McGregor, TX. He was the 5th of ten children born to Viola and Herman Wilkerson. On Friday, October 10, 2025, the sun set at Royal Manor Nursing Facility is when God called Isaac Wilkerson home.

Isaac accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized into the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church family. He served on the Usher Board and as a Trustee.

His favorite scripture was John 14:3 which says, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, will come again and receive you unto myself, that where am, there ye may be also" (KJV).

Isaac attended George Washington Carver Elementary and graduated from McGregor High School. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America and participated in football and basketball. He later enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1966.

On November 21, 1970, he married Minnie Morgan Wilkerson, and to this

union were born three children: Pamela, Rosaland, and Yolanda.

Isaac worked for OA Smith, General Dynamics, and the Gatesville State School for Boys before joining Nabisco, and American Cookie and Snack Company. He worked for them as a distribution driver for 20 years before retiring in 1995. During that time he became known as "The Cookie Man" because of the many cookies and snacks he shared with the children and families of the community.

Isaac was known for his sense of humor and commitment to his family.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and celebrating all good things, both big and small. He was a proud father and grandfather, and he was our biggest fan.

His parents: Viola and Herman Wilkerson, and four siblings: Kathy Wilkerson, Gladys Miller, Gloria Wilkerson and William Wilkerson preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish and honor his memories: a loving and devoted wife-Minnie Wilkerson; three daughters- Pamela Wilkerson (Arlington, TX), Rosaland Wilkerson and Yolanda Wilkerson (Katy, TX); two granddaughters-Kynsley Thornton (Katy, TX) and Kylie Gray (Arlington, TX); his siblings: Ruby Long, Hewitt, TX Morris Wilkerson (Merci), McGregor, TX, Rachel Bethea (Larry) Hewitt, TX, Rufus Wilkerson, Waco, TX and Marchel Wilkerson (Victoria) McGregor TX; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
