Gary Hammond Obituary

Gary Hammond, beloved husband, father, brother and friend, passed away to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 18, 2024. Gary touched the lives of many with his kindness, knowledge, humor, and unwavering generosity. Throughout his life he was known for his dedication to God, Family, and The United States of America.  Gary was a Business Owner, Carpenter, General Contractor, Automobile enthusiast, Gunsmith, and United States Marine. His laughter was contagious, and his spirit was infectious, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Gary will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his warmth, compassion and the countless memories he created.  He is survived by his loving Wife; Claudia Young Hammond, Children; Tracy and Michael, Daughter in law Courtney Rolf Hammond, Grandchildren; Brice, Katie, Cate, Sister; Patty Keener.  Gary was preceded in death by his Father and Mother; Gerald and Leta Hammond, of Indianola, IA, Brother; Dewaine, Son ; Tony Jay, Daughter in law Kathleen Swital Hammond, Grandson; Chase Montgomery Hammond.  In lieu of flowers the family requests Donations be made to Indianola First Assembly of God at www.Indianolafirst.com or Redemption Church at www.myredemption.cc In his Honor.  Though Gary may no longer be with us in body He is Present with The Lord and his memory lives on in all the hearts that were fortunate enough to know him.
