Everett Julian Bryant, born on November 28, 1977, in Temple, Texas, to Nancy Hollings and Talmage Bryant, passed away on July 30, 2024, in Killeen, Texas. Everett grew up in Killeen, where he was actively involved in football, track, and the Boy Scouts. He graduated from Killeen High School on May 29, 1999, and later attended OG’s School of Hair Design, where he became a master barber. Everett worked for many years at “Chong’s” Barber Shop and eventually opened his own barbering studio. In addition to his barbering career, Everett pursued further education, becoming a Medical Assistant and later a Certified HVAC Technician. Despite exploring new career paths, his love for cutting hair remained constant. Alongside his beloved wife Laneya, whom he married in 2008, Everett co-founded E.B Beard & Hair Oil Co., a business specializing in beard and hair oils.
Everett had a passion for music, playing guitar and keyboard with Laneya, and he enjoyed listening to a wide variety of genres. He was known for being a great listener and offering valuable health advice. A lifelong learner and avid reader, Everett had an old soul and waspart of a close-knit group of friends affectionately known as the “Village.” He rededicated his life to Christ and was a devoted family man.He will be deeply missed by many.
Everett was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Hollings. He is survived by his father, Talmage Bryant (Verniece) of Lufkin, Texas; his wife, Laneya Berkley-Bryant; his children, Sanaa Berkley of Killeen, Texas, Xanijah Bryant of Columbia, South Carolina, Mo’Ney Berkley of Killeen, Texas, Everett Berkley-Bryant II of Killeen, Texas, and Khloe Berkley-Bryant of Killeen, Texas. He is also survived by his brother Dimitri Dears of Killeen, Texas; sister-in-law Tawana Berkley of Killeen, Texas; brother-in-law Cedriz Berkley (Ana); niece Sasha Dears; and many other loving family members and
friends.
Everett’s legacy of love, wisdom, and kindness will be cherished by all who knew him.
