Esther Mae Turner was born to the parentage of Ruby Lee Webster and Clifton Turner in Riesel, Falls County, TX on May 17, 1935.
She attended school in Riesel, TX and Waco Moore High School. She married Joe Ellis Satchell in 1950 in Riesel, TX.
Esther loved being able to help others and throughout her life she was able to do so by working in many professions. She was employed with Estella Maxey Apartments, Caritas of Waco and Waco ISD. Her first love was being a seamstress and she could just look at a piece of clothing, study the feel of the design and pattern, then go home and make it just by memory. She was just that great! Her children, grandchildren and so many others benefitted from her gift and work as a seamstress. She took pride in her appearance and was always dressed with makeup and hair done at all times even if she was just staying home.
She began her faith journey as a young girl attending church with her family. She was an active and faithful member at Union Baptist Church and St. Mary’s Baptist Church until her health declined. Esther loved her 4 boys and took great pride in being able to raise them into becoming strong men that loved and support their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ruby Bible, her father, Clifton Turner, husband, Joe Ellis Satchell, siblings, Carl Bible Jr. and Eloise Degrate, and sons, Ellis Lanier Satchell and Terrance Trevant Satchell.
Esther leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Gregory J. Satchell Sr. and wife, Shenna and Thomas T. Turner and wife, Charlotte; Daughter-in-Law, Tomeka Satchell; Grandchildren, Shenester, Gregory Jr., Gary, Ronaldo, Thomesha, Thomas, Ellicia, Jasmine, Irene, Jayla, Tommy, Bobbie and Charles; 25 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandsons; A cousin she raised as a daughter, Sheila Webster; sisters, Alice Miles and Mildred Howard.
