Doris Ann Hill

Doris Hill was born on May 22, 1950. She was the second oldest of four children born to Mother Artie Lang and Father Nathaniel Davis. Doris grew up and attended Hubbard High School in Hubbard, Texas. She was raised in the faith at Macedonia Baptist Church in Hubbard, where she was Baptized and believed in the Lord from an early age. While still a member at Macedonia Baptist Church till her passing she frequently visited Lovely Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Gary Burton.

Doris Ann met Sammy Hill  during her High School years, they married and begin a family shortly after having four children; Doris Lang, Tracy Hill, Sammy Hill, Jr and Micheal Hill. Doris worked several years at Hubbard Nursing Home in Hubbard, Texas before leaving and starting her career in cooking which she absolutely loved. Doris enjoyed cooking so much she would have free fish fry's every summer, then she went on to host the Hubbard Homecoming Block Party at her house for the next 20 years.

Doris enjoyed traveling, dancing, dressing but most importantly feeding her family and anyone who knocked on her door. Doris never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome although she had two very close life long friends; Wanda Brackens and Claudian Johnson. Her favorite pastime was watching wrestling, and simply enjoying life with family. Doris loved to laugh with a witty sense of humor an a infectious smile would brighten anyone's day. 

She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Artie and Nathaniel, her husband Sammy Hill, Sr, Daughter Tracy Hill, Brothers Donnie Lang and Michael Lang

She leaves to cherish her memories: Daughter Doris Lang, two sons, Sammy Hill (Orgetta), Micheal Hill (Markeitha), Brother Joe "Lucky" Thompson (Rose) 10 grandchildren: Josh (Tara), Isaiah (Krystal), Samya, Christy, Finis (Normonie), Aaliyah, DeCorian, Micheal, Donam (Velma), Jordan (Destiny) 12 Great grandchildren and a host of cousins, friends and church family members.
