David Lynch Obituary

David Wayne Lynch, Sr.  went peacefully to be with the Lord on January 22, 2026, at home surrounded by his wife & sister.  He is no longer in pain.

David was born February 27, 1957, to Charles & Betty Lynch.  He grew up in South Waco & graduated from University High School in 1975.  He was in the Rodeo Club & enjoyed bullriding.

David worked at Lynch Auto Repair for his father.  They started on the Circle between the Elite & the Health Camp.  Later, they built a shop out on Hwy. 77.  He divided his time working at the shop & for General Tire, until his health declined in 2007.

He loved spending time with friends, playing cards & games.  He was an avid fisherman, spending many weekends fishing bass tournaments.  Later, he enjoyed crappie fishing with Lisa.  He was also a member of tlhe Waco Moose Lodge & served as an officer.

David married Jackie Spivey in high school,  & they had a son, David Wayne Lynch, Jr.   He was so proud of his son & loved spending time with him,  especially fishing together, & later enjoyed having fish fries for David Jr. & his friends.

One of his most favorites times of his life was going to his grandmother's house in Buffalo for the summer.  She had a large farm with lots of room to explore, things to do & plenty of cousins nearby to do them with.  He had so many wonderful memories of the time spent there, with more stories to tell then we have time for right now.  Another favorite place to go was Lemon's Camp, where the family would go to camp & fish on the Colorado River & spend time with friends.

David met the love of his life & best friend, Lisa, through friends & bowling in 1989.  They began as friends.  He once told his good friend,  Wayne Bramble, "I am going to marry that girl one day!   As fate would have it, some years later, they found each other when  both were single.  They were married on June 28, 1997, where his family grew to add two more children, Bobby & Amanda Hanna. He never referred to them as step-children,  He always told folks he had 3 children, & seven grandchildren.

David is survived by his wife, Lisa,  older brother, Donnie & wife, Gail & a younger sister, Donna (Sissy) Lynch Heugatter,  his sons David Jr.,  Bobby Hanna & daughter, Amanda Hanna Loper & son-in-law Derrick Loper,  grandsons Westin Lynch, Chris & Alex Jones, Trey & Kru Loper, & granddaughters Kamryn Hanna & Trinity Loper, & many nieces & nephews & great nieces & great nephews.  He & Lisa also had an "adopted" family in Tennessee, who were a precious part of their lives, Jennie Baker Sise & her children, Alyssa & Jake Baker, & Macy Moore.

David was a great, fun-loving,  hardworking man who made friends wherever he went.  He had two friends, who were lifelong friends, Kenneth Judge & Steve Gaston.  The three of them made many memories together, but we won't mention the stories of their adventures  today!

David will be remembered by friends & family for his crazy sense of humor & his loyalty to the people he loved.
