Calvin Holston Obituary

Calvin Holston, III was the second oldest child born to the late Ida Lovell McCoy Holston and Calvin Holston, Jr. February 6, 1951, in Waco, Texas.

Calvin confessed his love for Christ and served as a member of _Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Houston, Texas. Calvin servedfaithfully as a deacon. Calvin was an Licensed Registered Plummer for Crown PlumingCompany in Houston, Texas until his retirementat which time he moved back to Waco, Texas. He later joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church under Pastor Stimpson in Downsville, Texas. 

Calvin attended A.J. Moore High Schoolwhere he received his High School Diploma in !969. Calvin,, aka, Bubba treasured the friendship he formed with Joe Benns, Jr, Oliver Miles, and Harold Daniels during  his childhood. Bubba’s favorite enjoyments were honey buns, banana pudding, and cooking. His favorite word in answering you was “UHHHHH, I hear you.”

Calvin met his high school sweetheart,Pearlie Faye Walker at an early age and to thisunion they had three children, Pamela Holston, Terry Walker, and Debrecca Holston. Terry and Debrecca proceeded him in death. He met Christine Jenkins of Houston, Texas, and to this union they had one son Calvin Holston, IV. 

On April 22, 1994 Calvin married MichelleDenise Whitehead and to this union they raised Domontrion Trumain Whitehead and Ashanti Michelle’ Holston.

As Bubba’s health began to fail him, his devoted niece, LaPorsha Holston stepped in grabbed hold to her grandad and didn’t let go until his final breathe.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Ida Lovell McCoy Holston, father, Calvin Holston Jr, maternal grandmother, Ida Mae McCoy; grandfather, Lovell McCoy; paternal grandmother, Della Mae Johnson; and grandfather Calvin Holston, Sr, son, Terry Walker, daughter Debrecca Holston and sister Andrea Lois Holston Thomas and wife Michelle D. Holston.

On Wednesday morning October 23, 2024 at his residence Calvin reached his final destination from this earthly tabernacle.

He leaves to cherish his memory; daughters, Pamela Holston Lowery, Ashanti M. Holston and two sons Calvin Holston, IVand Demontrion Whitehead of Los Angeles, California.  Twosisters, Patricia Ann Holston Turner of San Francisco, and Gwendaline Holston Johnson of Waco, Texas, two aunts, Betty Joe Minor and Erma Jean Johnson both of Waco, Texas: grand-daughter’s LaPorsha Holston, Kylesha Lowery, Kyla Holston, Deshante Hightower (tay-tay), Tenaiz Walker, Honesty Caufield, A’dranay Long and grand-son’s Derik Holston, Terry Walker Jr, Joshua Long, Ke’Andre Brooks. He was blessed with 23 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
