Alberta Tillman Patterson

It is with profound sadness that we share the devastating news that we lost our beloved Mother on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Thankfully, she was not alone during her transition and she can now assuredly rest in peace with our Heavenly Father!

Alberta Tillman Patterson was born in Boley, OK, on August 10, 1949, to Benjamin Franklin Tillman, Sr. and Birdlean (Horn) Tillman. Both of her parents preceded her in death. Her fondest memories of her childhood were in the watermelon patch, bursting them open and eating the heart. To her, that was the sweetest part. She knew she was in trouble when she would hear her father call our, "Little Sista!" Her smile while recalling this memory was heavenly!

At the age of 16, Alberta moved to Wichita, Kansas to live with her sister, Martha Williams. In her carly adulthood, Alberta accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas.

Alberta's commitment to Christ was evident in her ministry and devout faith.

Throughout her career and professional life, she was devoted to ministering and helping others. Her lifelong passion for service to God and others and her love for her family, will be her unforgetrable legacy.

Alberta attended and graduated from Dunbar Learning Center in 1967. After graduation, she attended computer training courses and upon completion she started her career as a computer operator at Star Lamber Company in Wichita, Kansas. Eventually, she relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma before permanently relocating to Waco, Texas, where she resided until her death.

Alberta's entrepreneurial ambition thrived when she started her family business,

parenting. After her formal retirement, she worked in the assisted living industry, most recently, Visiting Angels, until her health declined.

She leaves behind to cherish her love and memories forever: her loving adopted mother: Rosetta Mainor Stone. Her loving children: Jacqueline Laverne Bland, Kristi Michelle Mitchell, Shelise Antoinette Gant, Joshua Patterson, Ruth Ann Patterson, Joseph Patterson and her precious daughter Christina Patterson. Her brothers:

Johnnie (Opal) Tillman of Oklahoma City, OK; and Benjamin Tillman of Wichita, Kansas. Her grandchildren: Anthony Bland, Darius Gant, Kenneth Oliver, Dontrell Bland, Valise Stanford, Davion Patterson and Kyishia Hazley and Kenai Norman.

Her great grandchildren: Ataj Cornish, Erik Hazley, Queen Oliver, Roderick Parker, Jr., Terez McGee, D'amir Courtney, Charming Johnson, Champion Johnson, Malachi Stanford, Milo Oliver, Keyliana Oliver, Kenneth Oliver, Latrell Moore, Za Marion Bland and D'Anna Bland. Her loving and supportive niece: Earnestine Underwood.

Her children's de facto godfather: Henry Underwood. Her loving nephews:

Cecil White, Anthony Williams, Bud Brooks, Jeffrey Tillman and Shelly Barnett.

Her lifelong friend and confidant: Cyrene Baskett. Her goddaughters: Qcionna Dickerson, Rachel Mueller, Ana Baskett. Her godson: Tiwan Hightower. Her foster daughter: Pam Kennison, and foster son: Tiwan Hightower. And a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Alberta is preceded in death by both parents, her granddaughter: Amia Porter and her loving grandson: Marquile Stanford; an infant sibling, sisters: Rose Bell Tillman-Marshall, Rose Lee Tillman-White-Barnett, Martha Tillman-Williams and Dora Lee Tillman-Butler; brothers: Robert Tillman, Authur Tillman and Hurigh Tillman; stepmother: Henrietta Marzett-Carr-Tillman-Hodge; stepsiblings: Grover and Lewis Carr, Loretta Carr-BrooKansas and Betty Carr-Durham.

Our hearts are forever shattered and your void in our lives is immeasurable, and though we will achingly miss you forever..it's never goodbye. Instead, it's always:

LOVE YOU, LATER and FOREVER.
